Dulture weekly mix
This week’s mix reminds you that it’s still summer, so you should be acting like it is. Which means take your sweet time to get work done, wear shorts all day everyday, even when it gets cold at night.
And last, but certainly not least - well - there isn’t a last but not least. It just sounded like that phrase fit.
Simply another classic mix from DJ Shtoops.
I’m telling you, one day you’re gonna be like, hey I want to meet DJ Shtoops, he’s been featured in your newsletter all these years.
And my answer will be no answer because I’ll be too busy saying no to everyone else.
Welcome to the time of the year where no matter what you wear, you’re screwed.
Do you go with a hoodie and shorts? Or do you go with a t-shirt and pants? Wtf do you do??
Whatever you do, just know that this summer weather ain’t around for that much longer.
That’s all I got this week - I know, I’m sorry. I’ll have a stellar opening for you next week, I promise.
Another…iPhone
You really gotta feel sorry for Marquis Brownlee, man.
Apple’s been inviting him to their events for a good 10 years now.
Translation: MKBHD has been reviewing the same phone for 10 years now.
…and he’s tried to make them sound different every time. Hats off to Marquis because I don’t know how many videos I could do where all I talk about is the battery and some new camera feature we’ll never notice.
Alas it’s that time of year again where Apple awakens from its yearly slumber of expensive mediocrity to give us yet another phone we don’t need because it does the exact same thing as our last iPhone.
That GOOGLE PIXEL DESIGN around the camera allows me to finally tell them apart from the past 6 years of phones…

The only one I cared about was the iPhone air because it’s the slimmest and guys put their phone in their pocket so anything that fits easier is a win in my books.
However, the battery life is gonna suck on it because it’s so thin so how could you ever fit a decent battery in there. And Apple is already selling a battery accessory that compliments the phone - so yeah.
Other than better batteries, the phones all have some new camera that does basically the same thing your previous camera does and so unless you’re analyzing your photos with a fine-tooth comb, you’ll never know the difference.
Frankly I was more interested in what Samsung had to say over Apple’s launch this week than anything else…lol.

GOOD Fridays were SO good
Chat, it’s been 15 years.
It’s been 15 years since every Friday we got blessed with music that we damn near looked forward to every Friday from Kanye West or from artists on his label at the time, Good Music.
We all remember the Kanye of 2009.

In 2010 Kanye started Good Music Friday’s to give his fans what they wanted all along - good music. This was also to distract people from the fact that Kanye had spiraled a tincy bit outta control - perhaps foreshadowing his Twitter profile.
The goal was to release a new song or remix every Friday from August all the way to Christmas, to promote what would end up being his second greatest album of all time, My Twisted Dark Fantasy (Nov 2010).
Since it’s been 15 years, why don’t we go back and listen to a few of the bangers that came out that summer/fall in 2010 starting with:
Power was nuts. Jay’s verse is great. The beat was impeccable, still is. This was the preview to Watch the Throne and we didn’t even know it!
It’s too bad this song isn’t on any streaming platforms though.
This was back in a time where you got a bunch of top artists on a track and it was a banger. All I wanted was more more more - like throw everyone on the damn track, you couldn’t go wrong. Monster is a prime example of this.
This is still one of my favourite Kanye tracks of all time. I discovered Pusha T through all of these tracks. Even John Legend is on this track, c’mon man. Kid Cudi and Kanye were friends - ugh….what a time.
There’s been like 3 things I’ve always wanted musically:
Blink-182 gets back together and gives us a great album ✅
Drake gives us one more pure RAP album ❌ (Ice Man maybe?)
Kanye gives us 2010 Kanye music ❌
Like even an EP - I’ll take 4 songs, is that too much to ask for?
This week is also the anniversary of the Kanye vs 50 Cent album release battle where they both released an album on the same day and had a bet over who would sell more.

The best Kanye album of all time won, naturally.
Birthday Easter Egg
They say socialism would never work.
They obviously have never played Animal Crossing.
Aside from the fact that it’s a nice escape from reality, Animal Crossing is one of those game series where you can tell the creators really took the time to think through what the player would be doing and how they might feel with certain things.
I’m talking little details like if you haven’t played in a while (currently me) the characters on the utopian island you live on will make it a point to come find you and try to talk to you, wondering where you were, and showing a lil bit of extra love welcoming you back to the game.
The other thing that’s super fun is they celebrate your birthday ON your birthday.

Death Stranding 2 took birthdays to a whole new level.
The dystopian, apocalyptic game asks for your birthday at the very beginning juuuust because.
But if you play the game on your birthday, there’s a really cool easter egg you can unlock. Check it out below:
Now I need to go play all of Hideo Kojima’s games because apparently he’s been putting birthday easter eggs in all of his games since Metal Gear Solid 5!
