Dulture weekly mix
Finally, a winter mix. Because, well, it’s frigging cold outside (this will be a theme in this week’s issue).
When you get to the 6:40 mark of this mix it’s going to be EXACTLY what your mind goes through when you decide whether you should be going outside these days…you’ll know know when you get there 🙃
Stay warm out there kids.
These days it feels like every time I look outside it’s snowing.
It’s sunny right now as I write this and somehow it’s snowing. Like wtf is going on.
Winter. Winter is going on.

And no, the US is not the only place getting hit hard. Man, we BEEN getting hit hard here in Toronto.
Sh*t’s so cold EVEN THE MAP HAS HYPOTHERMIA.

When I was younger this was the weather we embraced. We’d take our snow skates and be doing this all night:

I think a big part of my disinterest with winter, aside from it being bloody cold, is the fact that your footwear selection becomes very limited.
No one wants to walk through snowbanks and slush in a clean pair of J’s.
These days I either have a pair of hobo Pegasus beaters on or Converse’s GORE-TEX shoes, which act as my winter boots. If you’ve got an office job, I feel for you. Dress shoes in the winter just plain suck.
Nike has had their line of boots out for years now. And now they’re going to be releasing a low cut version of them, which kind of look like they could pass for an office shoe - y’know, like those Cole Haan shoes?
These might be how you survive winter without sneakers. Chat, could you get away with wearing these to work?

Nike Air Max Goadome Low “Black”
Are these a good office shoe for the winter?
What’s Happening in Jackass Land
I think it’s safe to say we’ve had our fill of Fast & Furious movies (Fast X Part 2 comes out April 2027 btw) because there’s only so many cars we can watch get blow up while driving out of a sky scraper.
The real question you should be asking yourself is, have you had your fill of Jackass movies yet?
I’m sure we know the answer so just keep it to yourself.
At the ripe old age of 54, Johnny Knoxville announced Jackass 5 earlier this month. Yes, this June, there’s going to be a fifth edition of what has now become pretty normal on the internet if you ask me.
Also the majority of the guys are in their 50’s now!
Steve-O just won a million dollars in MrBeast’s latest celebrity challenge video - whoops, just ruined it if you haven’t watched it yet.
Bam Margera continues to age “gracefully”, looking more and more like Phil (his dad) every day. Bam will be in the movie but only through archival footage - because he still hates Johnny Knoxville and the film’s director/producer Jeff Tremaine.
Johnny Knoxville was on Joe Rogan recently, effectively saying he doesn’t care what happens to his body as long as he doesn’t get hit in the head (he’s had over 12 concussions).
They also spoke about the fact that Johnny is the host of the new Fear Factor reboot - Fear Factor: House of Fear where everyone lives in a house together in between challenges. SKIP THE HOUSE AND JUST SHOW US PEOPLE EATING WILD SH*T.

Annnd honestly, I don’t care too much about the rest of the cast. All I can remember from watching Jackass Forever was how painful (no pun intended) it was to watch these guys still do the same things they were doing 20 years prior.
If you’re still into Jackass, the film comes out in June - they haven’t even started filming for it apparently lol.
Alright, alright I gotta pause for a minute.
Back in 2016 I wrote a whole poetry series inspired by my aspirations of becoming a ghostwriter for rappers.
The idea behind the books was that they were kind of like spoken word lyrics organized in a book that you could read, could use to get inspired, could write notes in alongside the lyrics - you could basically do whatever TF you wanted because it’s a nice lil pocket book.
Recently 2 things dawned on me:
You all want it to be 2016 again (not me, it was a trash year for multiple reasons)
Valentine’s Day is coming up and there’s a LARGE population out there who couldn’t give AF about celebrating.
So I thought, lemme just toss this book into the newsletter and maybe some of y’all will check it out 👇
Floetry in Portions: His & Hers.
The back and forth men and women go through because we’re all misunderstood beings that just want to be loved.
Snippets:

It’s for everybody

Why’s your effort under a palm tree in Cancun yo?

Guys, amirite?
I wrote this book while listening to TWENTY88, aka the collab Jhene Aiko and Big Sean did way back when…who recently broke up (again?…I dunno).
If you’re looking for a lil something simple for that Valentine or anti-Valentine, or maybe you need a little something to remind that idiot in your life that you love them still, check out His & Hers.
Also there’s a big 2016 Easter Egg in it so y’all can truly feel like it’s 2016.
Remember Star Search!?
Do me a favour right now - please, just click below.
I’d actually like to get an idea of how young/old you mfers are without me trying to StEaL yOuR dAtA. (this thing doesn’t tell me who clicked, it just tells me how many clicks)
OK, now that we’ve got that out of the way, for those of you who voted no, Star Search is basically America’s Got Talent - it’s like Adidas vs Nike, Mcd’s vs Burger King, MJ vs Kobe - at the end of the day, it’s very similar, if not the same.

This looks like it could be ANY show lol
So why TF do we care about yet another talent show, show?
Cuz instead of throwing your remote at the TV because of how much you like/dislike the contestant (not sure why you’d throw your remote for someone you like), you can now use it to VOTE in real time.

As the show airs on Netflix, live on Tuesday nights, you can vote for the people on stage as they perform.
Yeah, yeah, big deal. Oh but it is! We got a taste of that when Black Mirror and Bear Grylls respectively did their ‘choose your own adventure’ episodes - which I get, felt a lil gimicky at times.
Being able to manipulate the action in real time is only the beginning.
Imagine being able to vote for the NBA Slam Dunk competition while it goes on.
Imagine being able to vote off a contestant on Survivor in real time.
Heck, imagine being able to help judge an event at the Winter Olympics…okay, maybe not that but you get where I’m going.
TV just got super interesting again - expect there to be more real time participation in the VERY near future!

We don’t need Gatorade signs anymore!
Will.i.am’s Car Company
Every so often if you search up Will.i.am you’re going to get something interesting.

Will’s latest project is a 3 wheel, single passenger EV he unveiled at CES earlier this month. His car company, Trinity, plans on building these EV’s for “people who love driving but want software and AI to handle the mental load around the drive.”
The EV is powered by agentic AI meaning, you tell it what you want to do, potentially with several compounded tasks, and it does it while you drive.
For instance, you’re driving downtown for dinner and running late, you could tell the EV to message your friends, let them know you’re running late, give an ETA based on your location, and then get it to find the most convenient parking for you.

In fact, while normal cars are typically designed based on the chassis or body, Trinity’s EV is designed based on the AI and its capabilities within it. The design of the vehicle is done in a way to give the AI as much context to its surrounding, to the driving experience, and to the passenger as possible.
With a limited production run of 500, expect to see these things on the road in summer of 2027. There’s also a Kickstarter for the EV “launching soon”.
